Yesterday, I reviewed the Chopard L.U.C Engine One Tourbillon watch . It is extreme exceptional. And today I will introduce another new watch to be released by the famous watchmaker Chopard – the new L.U.C Louis Ulysse. Also created to mark the company’s 150th anniversary, this classic designed watch will be unveiled in a limited edition of 150 pieces.

From the name, we can know that this watch is certainly developed from the original L.U.C Louis Ulysse model, a landmark timepiece with a ingenious system based on “adjustable lugs”. The new watch has been equipped with great updates in the machanism, while preserving the original external design. With one swift move, the watch can be transformed from pocket watch to wristwatch. It is awesome, I know. Inspired by Karl Scheufele I who has patented special lugs designed to fasten a pocket-watch and transform it into a wristwatch, the new Chopard watch adopts an extremely reliable cradle system that considerably facilitates handling. Inside it is the case that can be firmly clasped between the adjustable lugs by a simple quarter-turn of the cradle base.

The carefully polished and satin-brushed case is crafted in 18K white gold, measuring 49.5 * 14.5mm. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal with double AR coating. Inside the watch is the new L.U.C EHG Pocket Watch movement. This brand new movement is especially developed by Chopard for the Geneva Watchmaking School, as a example to stimulate the students to create their “school piece” which will mark the culmination of their studies and representing a major landmark in any watchmaking career. With this proprietary movement, the company also pays homage to the city of Geneva that has welcomed Chopard since 1937.

Embellished with 20 jewels, this remarkable movement is COSC-certified as a chronometer and is stamped with the Geneval Seal quality hallmark. This mechnaical hand-wound movement beats at a cadence of 21,600 vph, and offers an 80-hour power reserve.
